Since the pacific basin nuclear power exhibition was held first in 1985
by the Korea Atomic industrial Forum, the Korea nuclear power industry has
received great international attention by hosting the 18th Pacific Basin Nuclear
Conference held in 2012.
Since then, the regular exhibition has been held with the purpose of raising
domestic and international awareness about nuclear power, developing
relevant industries and seeking the integration of technical development infor-
mation, overseas cooperation and the export expansion plans. In particular, it
has been decided to hold the exhibition at busan BEXCO every other year from
2014.
In commemoration of the 33rd anniversary of nuclear power exhibition, we are
planning to make the exhibition in 2018 largest nuclear power exhibition in
the country's history and we hope it will help open up markets through the
invitation of major international buyers and relevant industries.
The southeast region, with Busan as the center and including Ulsan, possesses
excellent industrial infrastructure with more than 40% of nuclear power
industry-related companies and more than 70% of nuclear power equipment
companies locatrd in this region.
In addition, this region boasts the largest nuclear power infrastructure and is
the center of high-tech nuclear, medicine & science and features such facilities
as the Kori Nuclesr Power Plant, the DongnamInstitute of Radiological &
Medical Sciences, and KEPEO International Nuclear Graduate School which
With its first nuclear facility export to UAE in 2009 marking the beginning of
operations overseas, the Korea nuclear power industry has expanded its busi-
ness globally in such places as South Africa, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and so on.
The International Nuclear Expo(INEX) will be a great opportunity to
display the integrated nuclear power technology of Korea to the world and
demonstratr the trchnical strengths of our safety equipment and this will be
important in reducing public uncertainty and fear about the nuclear industry
which increased after the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster both domestically
and internationally.
